There is a special place that exists at the point where passion and curiosity intersect, a place where the enthusiast steps over into the realm of the maker. People are exploring that place constantly in this early part of our new century, or so it appears. Every day, it seems, we encounter new artisans and craftsmen in our town and others, working with their hands to create honest things at the pottery wheel, the frying pan, the soldering iron, the loom...and now, HubBub joins their ranks! We absolutely love coffee, and want to have a hand in what we share with our customers. In the effort to constantly learn, improve, and take our game to the next level, we've been developing our own brand of coffee: the HubBub Blend. It's uniquely satisfying to have the ability to readjust and tinker and seek a certain personal perfection, and at the end of all of it, have a product that you've earned the right to call your own.
We are working with a private green buyer, who travels the world in search of great coffee. After much tweaking and testing, we've decided on a trio of coffees for our blend: Peru Union Azata, Colombia San Jose de Isnos and Brazil Mogiana. We carefully roast the beans in collaboration with our pals at ReAnimator Coffee, and have found that the composition works super well as drip coffee. Notes of plum, cola, brown sugar, cherry and dark chocolate make for a balanced cup, whether taken black or loaded up with milk and sugar.
The HubBub blend has been on as our house drip coffee for a few months, and we are now transitioning to making all of our cold brew with it as well. Also, the HubBub blend is available for retail: 12 ounce bags are for sale at all of our shops, so that you can enjoy our coffee at home as well.
Blending coffee can require some of the most skilled, artful work in coffee roasting. Our production team has spent countless hours pursuing just the right combination to allow all the components to sing in harmony, and the perfect level of roast to let flavors of the beans shine through while developing the toasty, chocolaty, nuttiness that we know our customers love. We are so proud of the result, and hope you enjoy it too!
