You are smart, talented, responsible, and a budding or already-accomplished technologist. And you need a job. Maybe you have a job already, but you're itching for change. Maybe you want to add freelance gigs to your current workload. Or maybe you're just plain old unemployed, and looking for a great job in the tech sector. Look no further! This Tuesday, February 10th from 1-7PM, Technical.ly Philly will host their popular job fair, NET/WORK, at Union Transfer. UT usually functions as one of the city's best music venues, and is a very cool place to host a job fair, if you ask us.
The folks at Technical.ly Philly insist that this not your typical job fair, but more of a laid back, inclusive community meet-up. "NET/WORK is about getting to know businesses and applicants outside of their resume," says Technical.ly's Events Manager, Kate Leshko. "Technologists have options when it comes to finding jobs -- we're creating a relaxed environment where everyone can test the fit."
The companies who will be tabling at NET/WORK - and there are over 60 of them (!) ranging from startup sized organizations to full-blown enterprise level organizations - are coming to show off their company culture and find compatible future employees. Kate says that this model does work, and they've heard lots of success stories about connections made and work found through NET/WORK.
So what does all this have to do with HubBub? Well besides wanting to share any and all info that we can to help you win at life, we will be at NET/WORK serving coffee*! Yup, one of the many perks that come with the $10 ticket price (so cheap!) is free HubBub drip coffee, as well as talks by experts, a photo booth for LinkedIn-appropriate head shots, resume advice, and a happy hour with beer, snacks and lotsa networking opportunities.
NET/WORK sold out last year, so don't sleep on buying your ticket. Hey, students or recent college grads: tickets are free for you! So, no excuses - put yourself out there and go find your dream job.
*Insider tip: We'll also be selling vegan donuts from Dottie's and savory pastries, while supplies last. Don't network on an empty stomach!
